During her tenure as a photojournalist for the San Francisco Chronicle, Deanne was at the heart of some of the most significant stories in the U.S. across the late 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s—covering the Loma Prieta earthquake, landmark Supreme Court rulings on marriage equality, the human cost of war, climate change, and the Bay Area’s dominance in professional sports, including the steroid scandal that shook Major League Baseball.
Beyond her career in photography, Deanne and her husband, photographer Kurt Rogers, co-founded Think Tank Photo, a globally respected camera bag company.
