JUGGLER™ SSD: Is It Just for Video?

First launched back in September 2019, Delkin Devices’ JUGGLER™ USB 3.2 Type-C Portable Cinema Solid-State Drive is one of several USB-C SSDs that are approved by Blackmagic Design to work in their revolutionary Pocket Cinema Camera 4K & 6K. The JUGGLER™ utilizes a 3rd generation PCI Express (PCIe 3.0) interface to offer recording speeds up to 1000MB/s, ensuring that frames aren’t dropped or recordings aren’t randomly stopped. Although the drive is specifically designed for flawless video capture in high-end cinema cameras (e.g. BMPCC4K, BMPCC6K & Sigma fp), it also offers benefits for non-videographers.
Even if you don’t shoot data-intensive video, the JUGGLER™ is regardless a great storage option, especially when you’re either off-site or travelling. Starting at 1TB, the drive can backup thousands of RAW photos within minutes at speeds up to 1000MB/s. This is ideal for wedding and event photographers who need to quickly offload large amounts of data from their memory cards and get back to shooting. You will also avoid having to store gigabytes of data on your desktop, which as a result can slow down your computer.
Whether you use Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop, the JUGGLER™ guarantees smooth performance when editing as it boasts read speeds up to 1050MB/s. In comparison to standard hard drives, solid-state drives are at least 4X faster and are built to handle heavy workloads. Fast media to edit off of is especially important when navigating through and batch editing large amounts of RAW photos, as files can individually exceed 50MB (megabytes) each.
Designed with a removable USB-C cable, the JUGGLER™ can be plugged directly into either a laptop or desktop computer for immediate file access. NO additional power cable required and NO required drivers to be installed. Once you’re done working, simply unplug and store it for the next use.
At only 4 in. long and weighing less than ¼ lb., the JUGGLER™ provides convenient, hassle-free portability so you can always have your files on-hand. Bring it with you wherever you go – safely store it in backpacks, carrying bags, laptop cases and much more – all while taking up minimal space.
